Shawn is a 5th degree black belt directly under Master Renzo Gracie. Immediately following Ricardo Almeida, Matt Serra, Rodrigo Gracie , Nick Serra. Promoted to black belt with his good friend and colleague John Danaher on April 2, 2002.
